Broadhead Review's

Muzzy-Phantom #4100/ 100gr./ 1-1/8" cut/ 4 Blade

Here is the latest crave. Cut on contact broadheads. I've never
shot one until everyone asked me to do a review on it. I've shot
Muzzy in the past and had no problems with them. This broadhead
is what I expect with a Muzzy product. It has a .036 primary
blade and a .028 secondary blade. It is a tough broadhead.
I took it out of the pack and screwed it on my arrow and gave
it a spin, and it was real close to being true. I shot it from
10 yards all the way out to 60 yards. It was holding a descent
pattern, but I wasn't happy with it.I use 2" blazer on my arrows
and my speed is around 280fps.I had some old arrows with 4" vanes
and started all over. After the switch I was satisfied. The 4" vanes
made all the difference in the world. So I recommend if you are
planning on giving them a try, to not get discouraged if you cant
hold a tight pattern. My next test was penetration, I taped 4
Chicago phone book together and shot in it. It had tons of penetration.
It also has a removable secondary blade that allows you to drop
the weight for 100gr. to 80gr. I couldn't tell a difference
in the way it they shot. I can't wait to see what it does with a
deer. All and all I would have no problem recommending this product.

Muzzy-Phantom MX #4100MX/ 100gr./ 1-1/8"x 1"cut/ 4 Blade

Heres the newest product for Muzzy. It's what I would call
the next generation phantom. It has all the same quality as
the phantom with a little more. It Has a 1-1/8" x 1" cutting
radius. The secondary blade can not be removed like the phantom.
The blades are thicker then the phantom. The primary blade
is.040 and the secondary bladed .036. This makes for a more
compact, stronger cut on contact broadhead. I shot them from
10 yard all the way out to 60 yards. They held a great pattern
with out tuning. I shoot them with 2" vanes and with 4" vanes
and couldn't see a difference. They didn't have any problem
holding up in the phone book text, they penetrated 1" deeper
then the phantom. I like this one a lot. The strong quality
makes for a tough broadhead. I would have no problem with
screwing one on my arrow, not tuning, then go hunting. This
is another broadhead I wouldn't have a problem recommending
to someone.

Muzzy-MX-4 #209-MX4-3/ 100gr./ 1-1/8"cut/ 4 Blade

Heres the Muzzy MX-4. It has a low-profile head designed
for easy tuning and it flies great. This is one of the broadheads
I've had great success with. You can shot this head at any
distant and not see a difference in the grouping. It also did
well in the phone book test. It didn't get the penetration that
the phantom did, but it isn't a cut on contact head either.
I got 3" less then the phantom. The accuracy of this
little head makes up for that. The blades are .025, A little
thinner then I like, but I've yet to brake one. This is one
of those heads youdon't have a think about to
much. Give them a try it's worked great for me.

Muzzy-MX-3 #225-MX3-3/ 100gr./ 1-1/4"cut/ 3 Blade

This is a new one for 2009! This three blade head has similar
features as the original 100gr. Muzzy head. It has a 1-1/4"
cutting radius. It's blade are .025 thick. I never done well
with tuning the old 3 bladed Muzzy, not so with this head.
It looks like the original but it's not, It is a short compact
strong little head. I shot it at all ranges and it held up good.
The grouping was nice. I had a little problems tuning. But once
it was tuned that made all the difference in the world. It held
it's on in the phone book test. The penetration was real
similar to the MX-4. It is a nice little head with a big punch.
